Cuproten was specifically developed for cleaning and desmutting copper and brass alloys. Used in immersion baths, Cuproten ensures intensive cleaning of the metal surface, but is very gentle on the metal at the same time. Following application, Cuproten also ensures optimal protection against tarnishing. When developing this product, we deliberately avoided the use of nitric acid as it pollutes the environment.

Because of its metal-conserving properties, Cuproten has proven to be an ideal cleaning agent for brass instruments. When used for this purpose, a Cuproten bath will take only 5-10 minutes to reliably remove verdigris, deposits and impurities on the exterior surfaces and also from the interior of the intricate curves and corners in these highly valuable instruments. Cuproten has no adverse effects on the instrument’s hard silver-plated surfaces.

Cuproten can also be used to clean very thin conductor paths on printed circuit boards.
Cuproten is a concentrate that can be mixed as desired with water; it is very economical, so even a 1:4 dilution will produce a powerful cleaning effect.

The brightening effect can be improved even further by adding a few percent of to the dilution.
